Το Φεστιβάλ υποδέχεται φέτος 25 εκρηκτικούς μουσικούς από το North Carolina State University για μια βραδιά που φέρνει τον παλμό των μεγάλων jazz clubs της Αμερικής κατευθείαν στην καρδιά της Αθήνας.
Οι “Wolfpack” αφήνουν για λίγο το campus τους στο Raleigh και ανεβαίνουν στη σκηνή με τον αυθεντικό Big Band ήχο: δυναμικά πνευστά, αστείρευτο swing και αυτοσχεδιασμοί που κρατούν το κοινό σε διαρκή εγρήγορση. Το ρεπερτόριό τους τιμά τους μεγάλους θρύλους της jazz, ενώ ταυτόχρονα ανοίγεται σε σύγχρονες ερμηνείες, αποδεικνύοντας ότι το είδος παραμένει πιο ζωντανό από ποτέ.
Ετοιμαστείτε να μπείτε στον ρυθμό γιατί το swing, όταν είναι αληθινό, δεν αφήνει κανέναν ακίνητο. Από τον Duke Ellington και τον Count Basie, μέχρι τον Duke Pearson, την Toshiko Akiyoshi, τον Mark Taylor και τον Alan Baylock, σίγουρα θα βρείτε κάτι να σας αγγίξει.
Πρόκειται για ένα live όπου ο νεανικός ενθουσιασμός συναντά την υψηλή μουσική κατάρτιση, δημιουργώντας μια μεταδοτική ατμόσφαιρα γιορτής.

Trading their campus in Raleigh for the Athenian stage, the “Wolfpack” arrives with an authentic Big Band sound: roaring brass sections, inexhaustible swing, and the kind of sharp improvisations that keep an audience on the edge of their seats.
Their repertoire is a masterclass in jazz history, paying homage to the legendary greats while pushing into contemporary interpretations that prove the genre is more alive than ever. From Duke Ellington and Count Basie, to Duke Pearson, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Mark Taylor, Alan Baylock, and everything in between, the NC State Jazz Orchestra will make every effort possible to please a wide variety of musical tastes.
